HOW DISCS FLY DIFFERENT: A LOOK AT THE CLASH DISCS LOTUS
If you have been playing disc golf for a while you will have noticed that the flight of a discs can change over time, often referred to as “Beat-in”. Some discs more than others depending on various factors such as the quality of the plastic. We believe our discs to be a premium quality plastic which will keep the flights of our discs among the most consistent.
Not factoring in the age of a disc, something that can have an affect on the flight of a disc is the plastic type used. A Popcorn in Softy plastic might have a slightly different flight than a Popcorn in Steady plastic. That isn’t a bad thing. You might find a disc that feels good in the hand and has a good flight but you want it just a tad more overstable or understable.
Team Clash Discs member, Elina Rydberg has posted a video on her YouTube channel to showcase some of our discs by comparing a few molds in different plastics.
Prototype Peppermint compared to Sunny Peppermint
Special Blend Lotus compared to (retooled) Steady Lotus
Blueberry Glow compared to her beat-in Steady Berry
Were you surprised by the difference in flights for the discs featured in Elina’s video?
